Project Summary / Description:
Aeroborn is a Dutch technology company on a mission to transform gigatons of CO2 into value by 2050. Aeroborn‚ Founders, each in their respective management roles for companies with transformative approaches to sustainability (Tesla, Nike, Apple, SkyNano) or with histories as major emitters of CO2, (Shell {Chemicals}), believes that CO2 can have value beyond sequestration underground or in Enhanced Oil Recovery, and can serve as useful feedstock for globally demanded hard carbon products traditionally made from highly CO2 intensive processes. The Founders and the broader project team include material scientists, engineers, and business directors with experience in scaling up industrial technologies from lab to commercialisation. More specifically, Aeroborn‚ team is comprised of global leaders in sales, engineering, corporate management and finance, sustainability, law, and marketing and communications. Aeroborn was founded in the belief that for CCUS technologies to be rapidly adopted and scaled up, any technology has to be able to compete with traditional producers without relying on government subsidies or taxes. Aeroborn‚ Founders believe that if you offer competitively priced green alternatives to traditionally dirty products, that the market will always choose green. Aeroborn‚ purpose is to provide those green alternatives, at competitive prices and at scale, while reducing gigatons of CO2. We believe that target is in reach. The Founders‚ like-minded approached to using CO2 as feedstock to generate useful materials led them to one another and to found Aeroborn in the Netherlands on July 9th, 2020.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Aeroborn technologies reduce emissions, reuse carbons, and recycle products by turning waste CO2 into profitable, permanently stored, solid carbons. Aeroborn’s technology is a one stop shop of carbon capture, conversion, utilization, and storage that transforms CO2 into value at scale.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Aeroborn co-Founder Anna Douglas holds a Ph.D. in Material Sciences and is recognised as a Forbes 30 under 30. As a business owner and a scientist, she represents an elusive double whammy for traditionally under represented women as both entrepreneurs worthy of investment and as scientists leading their fields in STEM. As a Founder and leader in Aeroborn (and well beyond Aeroborn by the way), Anna is empowered to communicate directly with leadership from some of the largest companies in the world and importantly, this means some of the largest polluters in the world. In her capacity as Founder and Chief Science Officer with Aeroborn, Anna is positioned to make a meaningful and lasting impact on climate change and on the extent to which humanity is able to meet the challenge of reducing CO2 emissions for the foreseeable future. Anna is the inventor of what will be seen as a core climate solution (as both a DAC technology and as a source emission reduction technology) that will change the world and positively impact the lives of everything living on the planet.

Mission Statement:
Aeroborn's mission is to transform the dirty carbon black industry into a sustainable producer of a critical material. We plan to retro-fit hard-to-abate industry installations such as cement, steel, oil and gas, and chemicals, to capture their emitted CO2 and produce, green, sustainable carbon black on sight, and at scale.
