Project Summary / Description:
The Greenfoot Print Project started in March 2019 with a focus on ensuring the younger generations are properly informed on issues affecting the Environment, sensitize on what the Sustainable Development Goals is all about and becoming the Change Makers in their Community. African Cleanup Initiative is providing an advocacy and sensitization centered approach that creates a platform for students in Public and Private Secondary Schools to be involved in Volunteerism and Community service. Inculcating the culture of volunteerism into the students at a tender age will help them to act responsibly; proffering sustainable solutions that can be adopted in building a resilient society. Also, a platform is created for them to argue logically (debate competition) on topical issues relating to the environment, the global goals (SDGs) and recycling. After which winners from each category will be rewarded and the best school awarded, as this is to achieve the intended goal of the awareness, which is to produce informed students that are vast with knowledge of recycling, the global goals and their environment, and to propel a behavioral change in them.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Nigeria and most African countries are ready to act on climate. ACI is creating opportunities for young climate leaders, channelling climate funding into a part of the country that has been neglected from climate financial aid, and making climate action accessible to everyone. 1.Fostering Climate Action in the Nigeria - People in the Northern part of the country have been left behind, but it doesn‚ t have to be that way. The North is sometimes referred to as ‚ food basket of the country‚ even though most of the food and industrial goods are produced here. People in the Southwest have the skills and expertise needed to help the nation transition to a carbon neutral society including -- engineering, manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and natural resources management -- if given the opportunity. 2.Expanding the Reach - We believe climate change is a problem for everyone, and that everyone can contribute. Our community includes all sorts of ages as well as occupations -- teachers, doctors, lawyers, automotive engineers, computer scientists, and more. Cultivating diverse stakeholders helps us include everyone. We've built ACI to be radically permeable so that everyone in the network feels able to shape it with their voices and gifts. 3.Grass Root Engagement - African Clean Up Initiative (ACI) has always been on the fore front of addressing environmental issues particularly at the grassroots. In the last Ten years, the organization has been innovative in birthing eco projects that engages people at the grassroots to be environmentally friendly citizens.
