Project Summary / Description:
Using the patented, Combined Remediation Biomass and Bio-Product Production (CRBBP) Process, I invented, one plants and then multi-tasks certain Bio-Crops, like Biomass Sorghum, to do good things for the health and well being of people, the planet, and local communities, less expensively. An analysis, conducted by UC Berkeley, shows that Biomass Sorghum will extract 14 tons of CO 2, per acre, per growing season, which is almost 4 times the amount of atmospheric CO 2, as an equal acreage of trees, and 2 times the amount as an equal acreage of switchgrass. We will demonstrate our CRBBP Process' urban efficacy.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
First, there are very few African-Americans involved in climate-focused businesses, and even fewer involved in CO 2 capture. And it is my intention, as an African-American founder, to make sure my team is diverse. Importantly, given the locations where environmentally problematic activities, like power plants, industrial companies, transportation infrastructure, etc., are located, they disproportionately impact poor, communities of color. We are partnering with such communities as we deliver our solution and we intend to train and employ residents of impacted communities to both deliver remediation services, as well as manufacturing our bio=products. And, we hope to use various public and private programs, which may actually have our community partners have a share of ownership in our companies. Third party validation of our ability to benefit challenged communities was the selection of our newly-formed my California company, ATP-CA, LLC, for a Social Impact Award, from the University of California, for work we are just beginning to strategize about, in Sacramento.
