Project Summary / Description:
Bastet Noir is a sustainable, zero waste and socially responsible clothing label whose designs are made to order specifically to each clients measurements. Every piece we make is made out of discarded materials and produced locally by a community of women single parents in North Macedonia. The purpose of the label is to help the growth of these women-owned businesses and support them with the education of their children in a country where their monthly income is less than 300$ through developing a sustainable business model.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We work with a community of women single parents and women micro entrepreneurs. In a country where their monthly income is less than 300$, we help them earn much more than this industry's average salary. Every woman is paid per every piece made, immediately after the piece is produced, which means that they earn much more than the average monthly salary while still remaining independent business owners. This also allows them to become financially independent so they can be able to better take care of their children and educate them. In addition to this, we support them by paying the rent and operational costs through a fund we've established back at the end of 2020. The fund is based on tips left by customers and every dollar at the end of the month is redistributed directly back into the development and growth of these small women-owned businesses. We also sponsor the education and any extracurricular activities of their children through this fund.
