betteries was formed to help solve two major global environmental problems - 1) the upcoming wave of obsolete electric vehicle (EV) batteries and 2) lack of affordable and flexible renewable energy options for demanding markets. Sustainable energy storage solutions are currently too expensive to serve many markets, thus impeding the uptake of renewable energy-based power. By upcycling used EV batteries through a battery-as-a-service business model, betteries can provide more affordable energy storage and prevent the discarding of lithium ion-based batteries. 
It all started in our founder‚ garage, where we built an early prototype, proving that EV batteries can be upcycled into robust power systems. Now we are developing capable, market ready power solutions.

betteries is has designed its product for demanding markets to ensure economically disadvantage households and businesses can have affordable access to safe and reliable power. betteries supports economic and gender diversity within its own organization ensuring it provides equal opportunities for women (2 out of 8 of the current team are women) as well as advertising specific jobs in the Berlin refugee community.
