Project Summary / Description:
We were founded in 2013 by a group of climate activists with a deep interest in the power of biology on planet Earth. Dismayed at the slow progress of emissions and alternative energy efforts, we recognized the importance of bringing nature's broad solutions to the climate discussion. Our project is directed at changing the heavily technological paradigm that guides our thinking, where essential natural steps are difficult to see. Nature's "new" paradigm opens a universe of climate solutions.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We keep our event prices low and always offer unlimited scholarship and volunteer tickets for people who can't afford to attend otherwise. We never ask people to justify or prove their financial status. We usually provide speakers for no fee, and distribute our Compendium, a 40-100 page document issued semi-annually, as a free download. We actively seek women and minority speakers, and don't discriminate in any way with respect LGBTQ speakers/participants (one of our staff is gay).

Mission Statement:
Our project is essential advocacy for restoring ecosystems to address global warming. We see the global loss of biodiversity as the underlying cause of climate change - greenhouse gases are a problematic symptom, albeit a potentially lethal one, and must be addressed. But while greenhouse gas emissions reductions are absolutely necessary, they are by no means sufficient for effective response to climate disruption. We must urgently address root causes: worldwide destruction of natural systems.
