Project Summary / Description:
While we believe that breastfeeding is wonderful and should be encouraged, the reality is that 84% of American women transition to dairy-based infant formula before the recommended six-month exclusivity period. Families feed infant formula out of necessity rather than preference. Parents are left with suboptimal choices, and they want an option that doesn‚ t force a trade-off between the health of babies, moms, and the planet. By offering cultured breastmilk, we intend to bridge the gap by offering the nutrition of breastmilk, with the practicality of formula. By shifting demand from bovine-based formula, we can reduce environmental harm caused by dairy.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We‚ re proud to be a women-owned, science-led, and mother-centered company that seeks to disrupt AgTech and traditional business models with strong and resilient women. To be honest, the space of infant nutrition and sustainability is really hot right now and lots of people see it as a space to make profits, rather than help women or people. This is a serious issue because feeding infants and saving the planet should not be a sector where companies are looking to pillage and profit off of women's health, infant nutrition, or our world because it's trendy. Those teams that just want a quick buck will fail. We have hired a badass team of ladies (and a few allied gentlemen) that all believe deeply in our why. When this sector inevitably gets harder to operate in and requires resilient and motivated teams to overcome the hurdles ahead, we will be successful because our team believes in their bones that the work we do is world-changing. Female scientists innovate in this space for themselves and their future children - we are going to fight tooth and nail to bring products to market for our own family, friends, and world.
