We are building the ‚ Kindle for Apparel‚ starting with the 'Twitter for T-Shirts'. The way we produce and consume clothing is outdated and harming our planet. When you buy a CANVUS T you can download any design you want instantly and print it with our CANVUS LIGHT PRINTER. Every time you download a new design and 'flash' it, you save 12,000 L of water + 2.6 kg of CO2. It's 300x more convenient than buying a T-Shirt and waiting days for it get shipped + 16x more sustainable than clothing products today + allows you to personalize anytime you want.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Un-conscious Capitalism has led to unsustainable growth at the cost of our climate and well being of our humanity. Underrepresented groups have been shut out of the traditional economic opportunities offered to those ‚ in the know‚ . As someone who grew up poor and hustled their way to an education and start-up company, I have felt this many times in my own life. The traditional pathways of creating meaningful work have been quickly changing via digitization of industries. The fashion and apparel industry - an industry which serves to monetize the zeitgeist of culture and expression - is currently on an unsustainable pathway. The way we produce and consume fashion and apparel is broken - using non-renewable physical resources for our fashion and apparel needs while neglecting human rights around the world and manufacturing in regions where there are water scarcity and greenhouse gas emission problems cannot go on any longer if we are to save Mother Earth. Furthermore, the way designs and creativity is monetized in fashion and apparel is also broken. Conventionally one had to go through a traditional educational and career pathway to land a position as a designer - a path filled with increasing student debt and low pay. Within the industry there are many underrepresented groups - women, people of color, youth, climate vulnerable communities, etc - that are not able to share in the economic growth because of such old ways of doing things. However, the fashion and apparel we wear also serves as a meaningful way of relating to our fellow humans, expressing our cultures and values, and feeling moments of joy from wearing something we love. Our mission at CANVUS is to solve these problems by creating fundamental technology that allows anyone on the planet to download/upload any design, print, and erase for repeated use all without having to wait 2 days for an online order to ship or increasing one‚ environmental footprint. With the CANUVS T anyone can print anything - whether it‚ a slogan/cause they believe in - a music artist‚ lyrics - logo of their favorite sports team - or a positive message they want to share with the world. Furthermore, the CANVUS Virtual Store will allow anyone with a creative idea to sell their designs and allow anyone to buy these designs - it‚ ll be like ‚ Kindle for Apparel‚ - instead of digital books we‚ ll have digital designs for apparel. Every time one buys a design from the CANVUS Virtual Store they are offsetting up to 12,000 L of Water + 2.6kg of CO2e which are the resources it takes to make a cotton T-Shirt. We are starting with T-Shirts because of the simplicity to express and ability to scale our technology. Our ambition is to then expand into other apparel categories such as dresses, pants, shoes, etc to allow any creator or designer democratized access to entrepreneurial opportunity via the internet.
