Project Summary / Description:
Initiating the R&D plan from the successful initial Catalyst POC results, Carbonade shall develop and introduce enhanced Gas Phase Flow Electrolyzer (GPFE) cell performance, improved efficiency, and stability. These results shall be the basis for subsequent work plans focused on product development, engineering, and commercial scalability of the technology. Our main challenge is to make the conversion of CO2 an efficient, stable, scalable and cost-effective solution reaching commercial viability, as this is crucial for the next stage of implementing reliable production of sustainable net-zero carbon-based end products. We are an important Carbon-to-Value enabler that starts with producing the most straightforward and economically valuable product, carbon monoxide (CO), which is among other options, the building block for various fossil-free carbon-based products.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses), Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)
Best Estimate of GHG Avoidance/Reduction of This Project (Tonnes CO2 Equivalent/Year):
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our team is equally represented by men and women and includes a minority representative in a key research position.

Mission Statement:
At Carbonade, an Israeli deep-tech Weizmann Institute of Science spinoff, we aim to enable the production of Carbon-based products without the need for fossils as we develop a disruptive solution to transform CO2 into CO, which is a key first step enabler for producing Fossil-Free Net-Zero products such as synthetic fuel.
