Carbon Removal is aimed at tackling the biggest threat facing humanity ‚Äî fighting climate change and rebalancing Earth‚ carbon cycle 

Our purpose is Carbon Removal to fight climate change and create jobs, foster food security, and local development. 
Char2cool‚ process of removing water hyacinths from infected water bodies, dry them, produce biochar, turn it into a soil enhancer, improve soil fertility significantly and have higher yields and therefore food security. 

Water hyacinths (WHC) is a fast growing weed in water bodies in the tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. It hinders fishing, transport, irrigation and hydropower. Removing WHC eases people¬¥s life.

WHC grow in tropical areas of Africa, South America and South-East Asia. These are areas where many underprivileged and often uneducated people live. Youth unemployment is usually a big problem and living in precarious conditions is rather the rule than the exception which makes those people especially vulnerable to almost anything - be it climate change, pandemics, economical changes etc. 
Water hyacinths are freely accessible at lakes and rivers. They are a weed often called weed from hell . It doubles itself within two weeks. So even when removed, there is no shortage of supply. This means, there is almost no operation cost with biochar production. No heavy upfront investment. The only input is personal labour. Instead of being jobless everyone can start to harvest the weed WHC. 
Due to a low-cost, but high efficiency carbonization technology, nearly everyone can start a biochar business from water hyacinth. This technology is developed by Char2Cool and is open-source. The kiln was developed with the conditions that it is cheap, sturdy and that material is easily available. The main part of the kiln is made from a used oil barrel. This way the investment in a kiln is as low as 30‚Ç¨. 
So with only 30‚Ç¨ start-up capital, everyone can start. The process itself is easy and no formal education is needed. Within an only one to hours of training anyone can learn the process. We taught Peter the process from distance. Now he is an expert already. 
With WHC biochar (WHCC) everyone can improve soils. The keyword here is Terra Preta. This leads to higher harvests. This is scientifically proven e.g. in Northern Ghana. 
Backyard farming and farming on marginal land is possible with WHCC. 
Within 6 months, we established a start-up with 15 young employees in Lagos/Nigeria. 50% of the population of Lagos is under 24. The unemployment rate is up to 80%. 
And with the backyard farming idea, one can easily add a second source of income or self-sustainability by producing vegetables.
