Project Summary / Description:
Crust Group is an organisation built around passionate food waste fighters driving the upcycled food movement. We convert surplus ingredients like bread and fruit peels into unique products like our CRUST beers and CROP non-alcoholic beverages. Our aim is to empower businesses in food service and retail to upcycle their food waste and loss into high-value products. We will continue to look for ways to build solutions around different types of food waste.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
CRUST places particular emphasis on addressing SDG 5: Gender Inequality reduction. Of the people involved in this initiative, 70% are females. These are all individuals who are committed to effecting change because of their attachment but also the compelling nature of the story behind the development and evolvement of this start-up. In addition, there are also focus placed on having intern recruitments share a 50-50 ratio in their gender. As an example, look no further than Shen Lee, who serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for CRUST. She is one of many females in the organisation who are the leading voices in conveying the vision and mission of CRUST to the external audience.
