Project Summary / Description:

Since its launch in September 2020, EDO‚ Climate and Environmental Literacy Campaign has accelerated a worldwide political movement and commitment toward integrated, assessed climate and environmental education with strong civic engagement and economic justice components. EDO has led the global initiative, bringing together a large and diverse set of stakeholders including Education International, a global network of labor unions, government leaders and ministers, NGOs, civil society advocates and partners, and business and technology leaders from the private sector.

EDO has local staff around the world in India, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and more working to make sure that their unique perspectives and needs are taken into account. They create local strategies that work for the populations they serve to achieve the overarching goal of a climate literate populace. EDO works to ensure that they are represented at high-level climate talks like COP.
