Project Summary / Description:

The greatest obstacle to commercialization of Direct Air Capture of CO2 is the capture cost, chiefly due to its substantial sorbent cost. Emissol contactor needs almost half the sorbent of standard contactors while delivering the same captured CO2 mass. This markedly lowers the total capture cost closer to its commercialization target , defined to be around $100 / ton of CO2. 

The concept is entirely home-grown at Emissol.

Our team is diverse as, even though small, it encompasses 3 different nationality backgrounds. Our broader team includes also female scientists. We also hire interns with minority background for the purpose of training them in carbon capture.
