Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The overall aim of the project is to conserve the environment through women and youth. The project works with women and youth only. There are 3 women groups benefiting from project each with a range of 10-20 members. The project further works with youth clubs. The project supports 65 youth clubs in various communities. The motivation for working with women and youth is that in Malawi, adult males make the final decision because they are regarded as the head of families. Males determine how to generate income for the family and the suggestion of the man is final. This negatively affect the participation of women and youth in various conservation efforts in various communities. Women and youth have no say and hardly contribute to solutions for the problems facing their communities. The project gives women and youth a platform to show their capabilities and potential in contributing to solutions facing their communities.
