EVmatch started as a master‚ Eco-Entrepreneurship project out of the University of California, Santa Barbara‚ (UCSB) Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, with the idea that EVs are a proven carbon reduction technology, but major adoption barriers exist due to insufficient and unreliable charging options for drivers. After completing her master‚ degree, Heather Hochrein incorporated the business and continued pursuing the project full-time, motivated by her passion for advancing clean energy solutions that address the world‚ pressing climate change and air pollution challenges.

EVmatch is extremely proud to be founded by a woman in the STEM field founder and CEO, Heather Hochrein. Heather brings a strong engineering and analytical background, business development skills, and energy and software product management experience. Heather received a master‚ degree in Environmental Science and Management, specializing in Energy and Climate. Heather enjoys a challenge, competition, and adventure, and uses her tenacity to continuously create lasting change for the environment and her business pursuits. Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology at University of California, Berkeley. Prior to EVmatch, Heather spent five years in leadership roles at Rising Sun Energy Center, a leading green workforce training organization, where she managed a $1.5 million annual budget and 25 staff members. EVmatch‚ business model supports economic diversity by democratizing the business of EV charging. EVmatch‚ community-based platform empowers individuals and small businesses to enter the EV charging business and helps to keep revenues from transportation spending in local communities.
