Project Summary / Description:
Lack of data on transit systems presents a massive barrier for African cities, users and public transport operators hoping to navigate and plan for better and more efficient public transport. Mapping cities‚ transit networks can not only improve the experience of users but foster ecosystems and skills that can enable African cities to better leverage the data revolution. eWarren, is an ivorian based a start-up mobile app that offers a cashless payment system to passengers of woro-woro municipal taxis, mini-buses and traditional ferries in Abidjan. eWarren is mapping all informal commuter lines and stops in Abidjan (C√¥te d‚ Ivoire) to generate dynamic datasets in the standard GTFS format and couple it with Abidjan‚ formal public transport network to enable users (estimated to 5 million daily) to seamlessly use both formal and informal services.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The ultimate goal of ewarren project is to create a mobilit ecosyteme where people will love commute throiughout public transportation rather by their owned cars . We are building step by step a customized mobility as a services for developing countries by integrating the most important segment of mobility to the formal public transport . Beyond this first step , and because we introduced for the first time cashless payment solution in the informal transport segment , we will be able to provide an accurate financial data for the financial institution to help owners and drivers from informal transport to renew their cars and introduce at the same time electric cars for this segment. We believe these 2 points would contribute to the climate changes.

Mission Statement:
eWarren is an Ivoirian based start up aiming to transform the informal transport and improve mobility by leveraging on the financial data to provide traveler information from both smartphone and basic phones. The initial target group are West and central African countries that have similar transportation need and then other countries like rest of African countries, Latin America and Asia will be targeted. Ultimately 5 billion people will be impacted. This project will impact roughly 5 billion people living in emerging countries (Africa, Latin America, Asia) who commute via informal transport networks on weekly basis
