Project Summary / Description:

In 2013, our core founders saw first-hand the scale of deforestation while tree planting in Western Canada. While the tree planters and loggers lived together it became clear that there was something very different about these two groups: Technology. The tree planters were planting seedlings in the ground using shovels, where the loggers had state of the art tree felling machines. We started Flash Forest to bridge that gap. Our mutual passion for the environment and doing something that has a significant impact on climate change and deforestation is a formidable driving force behind all of our members.‚Ä®

One of our leading co-founders is a female with Metis status and has a career focused on demonstrating the role of female leadership in helping drive technology and sustainability globally. 

In addition to that, our organization promotes economic diversity in numerous ways. Introducing a new means of reforestation using drones will result in the creation of new job opportunities in automation, artificial intelligence, botany, logistics and engineering worldwide. It also enables the scalability of reforestation by enhancing an individual's planting potential by a factor of 10. 

By regenerating our planet‚ forests, we enable an abundant diversity of species and ecosystems to thrive (which, in turn, enables greater for economic diversity), we encourage growth and support of the sustainability sector, all while creating new economic opportunities that expedite positive, tangible effects on climate change.
