Waste management has become a major problem in rapidly growing municipalities in Nepal. On the other hand, fuel crisis is another major issue. As a result, Gandaki Urja was formed by some young and dynamic entrepreneurs who collaborated to start a business that could convert the waste to clean energy and fertilizer.

As of now, we have 40 staff in our payroll, including contract employees. Most of them are local residents. Gandaki Urja not only provides employment opportunities but also helps in enhancing the skills and technical know-how of the local workforce. The amount of money flowing into the rural economy in the form of wage earnings will directly enhance the initiation of various additional economic activities and enterprise development. In addition, our project provides equal opportunities for male and female employees. Women are equally encouraged to work and are provided opportunities based on their talent. There is no discrimination on wages and roles of the employees.
