Project Summary / Description:
The GEHT project, initiated by young people and addressed to society as a whole, allows everyone to take part in the environmental debate. This initiative proposes to create, in a participative and inclusive manner, an environment conducive to the definition and development of a future sustainable world. The aim is to create the best possible conditions for a dialogue between all the key actors of the transition: the population, the scientists, the politicians and the entrepreneurs. The objective is to promote dialogue by offering a formal alternative to climate manifestations and to encourage change through personal and collective initiatives.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
As stated before, the GEHT project was created by students and is fully organized by people who are currently studying or just finished their degrees in several Swiss universities. Moreover, the association aims to empower all of their members in giving them responsibilities and pushing them to their best in project management and bettering their organizational skills. In total, the members of GEHT are made up of around 40% of women and there is a strong representation of women in both executive and associative committees. While this percentage can seem low, it has to be remembered that our project emerged in an engineering school where less than 27% of students are women. We, at GEHT, do not discriminate and aim to give a voice to anyone who wishes to join our project. We do not have any system to select our members and don't have the power to refuse anyone from joining us. This allows for a broad range of ethnicities, genders and age groups to be represented in our members and committees. Moreover, the horizontal hierarchy in place in our project allows for everyone to be free in submitting ideas and in cases where a vote is needed everyone is welcome to participate in the decision making. The GEHT summit will be open to everyone with very cheap to free tickets to enter and our communication as well as our activities during the summit will be inclusive to all backgrounds and ages with varying levels of technicity while being open to everyone available.
