According to the statistics released by the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2011, only six out of 1000 people in Nepal owns a car. Though the number of motorcyclists have increased significantly up to 400 times since last decade, still most of the vulnerable people are compelled to use walking or cycling as their primary mode for transportation. Green coins incentivizes such activities and aims to promote sustainable mobility on a much wider scale. Poor people are one of the target beneficiaries of this initiative.
