Project Summary / Description:
Green New World was established in 2008 to research, develop and showcase regenerative building design while providing education. The main focus of Green New World has been the HOPE series entailing a collection of residential homes built in four different locations with different climatic conditions and different resource challenges. The strategy employed in HOPEone is integrative design, syntropy and diversification biomimicry of ecosystems operate which is also the rationale behind the application of biogenic systems that work together to culminate in a water-waste-energy-food nexus. Here we present an residential biogenic waste to energy conversion system that provides biogenic natural gas (BioNG) for cooking and domestic hot water in HOPEone. This is a giant leap from conventional biogas systems as the solar powered isothermic triple stage bioreactor provides an unprecedented conversion efficiency of 4-7 KWh of BioNG vs 1-2 KWh per KG encountered in most current biogas plants or household biodigesters.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses), Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption), Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)
Best Estimate of GHG Avoidance/Reduction of This Project (Tonnes CO2 Equivalent/Year):
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Green New World‚ philosophy is to empower humanity by providing solutions that enable people to take responsibility for their own footprint. The low cost and short return of investment makes this waste to energy conversion system attractive also to low income households.
