Project Summary / Description:

Most Kenyans live below a dollar per day. 
With this extreme poverty,most of them cannot afford a clean cooking fuel and therefore result in cutting down of trees for firewood and charcoal as cooking fuel. 
The demand for cooking fuel increases with the rapidly growing population. 
We convert agrowastes into smokeless briquettes that are clean, cheap, affordable and available all year round which replace firewood and charcoal. 
We are therefore offering a clean, cheap and affordable cooking fuel to all Kenyans especially the low income families and solving the clean cooking energy crisis in Kenya.

1) We have so far created 34 jobs, 8 women on production,11 women vendors and women of management. 
2) Climate Vulnerable Communities Benefits. 
In order to make one ton of charcoal, ten tons of wood is burned. This explains why Kenya's natural forests are being depleted as such a fast rate. For every one ton of agro-waste that we use, 300 kilograms of briquettes is realised. The manufacture and use of technology in the briquette industry has reduced exploitation of the forests for fuel wood. 
The tree resources are very crucial for maintaining the environment; they preserve the environment and endangered species; support both rural and urban communities. 
We facilitate the Reduction of Green house gases emissions. 
1 tonnes of briquettes produced by Green365 Energy Solutions Ltd can save upto 88 trees of average size and 1 tree can absorb 0.02177 tonnes of CO2 per year. 
For the past 2 years we were in operation we have produced 11683 tons of Briquettes having produced 3833 tonnes in the first year and 7850 tonnes in the second year. 
Therefore saving (11683 √ó 88) which is 1028104 trees and this has enabled us to make an avoidance of (1,028,104 √ó 0.02177) which is 22,382 tonnes of CO2 and 2531 tonnes of methane which is 84 times potent than CO2. 
On the flyers and posters that we use, additional information on environmental education is conveyed to prospective clients. This has increased awareness of environmental issues. Half of the flyer and posters are printed in indigenous languages like Kiswahili. 
3) Farmers, especially women and youths, earn an extra income from the agro-wastes. 
There are employment opportunities for more people at the production unit. These workers are paid wages. 
4) Briquette clients who are mostly women are now able to save up to 81% on fuel expenses.
