Project Summary / Description:

the goal of our project is to create a small urban forest as a green belt of carbon sequestration and contribute to the fight against the climate crisis and heat islands. Produce fruit in combination with market gardening under orchards. We were inspired by the virtual absence of trees in the city of Kinshasa which lacks shelter when it is hot, our observation began in 2016 and materialized in 2019. Why this, the observation is that when it was hot and you you put under the shade there was freshness and pure air. How it was formed, we have a plot on the outskirts of a quarter of a hectare where there was nothing except the house, we started to cultivate trees , this fed our curiosity by associating vegetable garden activities with it.

The project pursues multiple objectives among these the empowerment of women through local food production in the plot and young people (family) contribute to the realization of agro-ecological production in their plot, our project has multiplier effects. The sensitization of the population goes more easily through young people and women who saw the realities of local production and consumption that empowers families economically, food, social and environment. Our agricultural biotechnology trainings have raised awareness and mobilized women in the climate action movement . Vulnerable marginalized people have found a share for them by using the circular economy of organic household waste management for vegetable production around the house. The plateau1 district is in an urbano-rural commune where the main activity is farming and small business. the project is an innovation that arouses their involvement in the follow-up of training on the right to health, food and the environment, something that was foreign to them.

Our organization Health and Education for All (SET Ong) is an ASBL registered with the Ministry of Justice under N 0 JUST./SG/20/21.586/2021 with acknowledgment of receipt N 0 F.92/42.792, is an NGO by right Congolese which aims for well-being, prevention and promotion of health and its actions are focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 2,3,4,5,6,12, 13, 15 and 17 which are our guiding springboard. We have achievements at the national and international level which confer dignity, competence, knowledge and mastery of certain current issues in the world.
