Project Summary / Description:
The start-up Hopper Mobility is building an innovative vehicle for a modern and liveable city. The "Hopper" combines the best features of a car and a bicycle - three wheels, two seats, a roof and a boot, everything you need in the city. The bicycle-registered vehicle takes its passengers to their destination comfortably, quickly and rain-safe, while emitting 90% less CO2 than e-cars. The founders come from the automotive industry and want to make mobility sustainable and future-proof with Hopper.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We offer a individual mobility solution with the comfort of a car but to prices nearer to a bicycle. Especially as our vehicle will get more affordable as a used vehicle on the second life market, we can offer mobility to people with lower income. This was actually the original starting point as we had relatives who weren`t able to own a car and had no choice but use a bicycle or time-consuming public transport in bad weather conditions. We see a good starting point of changing things about climate at the exact point, where it mostly is generated. This is in rich countries using cars with on average only 1,6 people on board. We see big impact through offering other solutions so at least some percentage of former car users will use our enviromental friendlier version of a car. With that the impact is generated also for people who are not our core customers.
