Project Summary / Description:

HOPU started with the mission to support urban authorities to bring innovation into action for climate change mitigation via evidence-based action plans. HOPU joined forces with Climate-KIC, FIWARE and European Commission, to let all the power of policies, data and IoT to build a solution that could address this challenge. The answer is HOPU, data-driven dashboards and air-quality/environmental monitors that together with AI algorithms, help to understand the city, define the required solutions and based on previous experiences propose actions. Thereby, helping to monitor evolution, measure real impact (real-reduction of emissions) and enhancements in terms of urban health.

The company is supported by different sources of financing, among which direct/indirect contracts with smart cities are worth mentioning, being a profitable company. It is complemented by consultancy and European projects. 
At the level of gender diversity, we have 50% (3/6) of the management positions that are held by women: the founder (COO) is Apolonia Valera Guirado, the director of communication and marketing (CMO) is Andrea Molina Oliva and the director of innovation (CTIO) is Iris Cuevas Mart nez.
