Project Summary / Description:
This project will be carried out for waste heat recovery, and our proposed system should be able to generate electricity from low to mid grade temperature geothermal resources, and industrial applications such as gas turbine or reciprocating engine exhaust to electricity, as well as geothermal and solar thermal with profitable operation for ranges from 80 C to 400 C. A novel non-condensing thermodynamic cycle that uses the adsorption cooling and fluidized technology utilizing nanostructured porous materials forming a thermal compressor that eliminates problematic components in a standard ORC system to produce 50% more output power from the same heat source.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Local development of an geothermal plant using technology will enhance community sustainability: Existing energy resources include diesel electricity generation at remote communities rely on fossil fuels for heating, transportation, and the importation of food. Specifically, space heating from fossil fuel sources could be replaced by electric heating or perhaps by direct use of the geothermal fluids if built using the technology. A transition to electric or hybrid/electric vehicles could further reduce the local dependence on expensive fossil fuels and more fully utilize the resource. Also since the importance of local food security is gaining increased attention. Greenhouses are a proven revenue stream at several geothermal locations around the world. Stable and lower energy prices would stimulate the economy, and the geothermal resource could bring new types of development to an region for example waste heat may be used for warming greenhouses or drying food. Such a geothermal development Geothermal development would also provide local jobs, both directly and indirectly. People with a variety of job skills or backgrounds could find long term local income potential from a potential geothermal plant.
