Project Summary / Description:
It aims to reduce deforestation and violations against Indigenous Peoples' rights in their customary territories by increasing access and strengthening through cultural and local knowledge revitalization, legal protection, capacity building, customary territory planning and management and strengthening local economy. The specific objectives: (1). Research and revitalization of local culture and knowledge, socio-culture, economy, territorial and customary forest condition; (2). Capacity building; (3) Facilitating protection and recognition of customary territories and forests (4). Strengthening the management system and planning of customary territories based on local knowledge; (5). Strengthening local economy through community cooperatives and strengthening sustainable and equal productive businesses.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
In each community facilitated by Institut Dayakologi, there is a local organization of women and youth, whom will be involved through this local organization. Before starting the program, a gender-based socialization and assessment will also be carried out and opening up space for discussion with young people. Vulnerable groups, especially persons with disabilities, will receive separate approach, in which they will be involved in internal discussions with their family members or members of the local community; This group will be facilitated with writing instruments and other relevant methods, for example with sign language, etc.
