Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The project empowers women and people of color in developing countries and climate-vulnerable communities to make high-technology products using low technology tools and infrastructure to help solve climate change at the local level. Anyone can use, make, and sell the patented building products for building better buildings all the way up to the zero-emission standard. The answer to question 14 describes additional benefits of the project. At the local level in Connecticut, this project has given a unique opportunity for three female students to represent J. David Wright LLC as supervised attorneys in front of the USPTO through a federal program administered by the University of Connecticut School of Law IP Law Clinic. Spinoff patents will give other women a similar opportunity under supervision by Attorney and Professor Diane Covello.
