Project Summary / Description:
The idea came about after seeing the children developing stunted growth due to the lack of enough protein in their daily diet. In the past expecting mothers used to have plenty of fish from Lake Victoria and some other lakes and rivers. Due to overfishing, this option has been taken away. Animal meat is still expensive and not many families can afford it and animal milk is expensive too. This is when I came up with this bright idea which can be done by anyone in the village by affording cheap produced animal feed of high quality next to nothing. This idea kills two birds with one stone. Firstly, fighting hunger with science and simple technology which helps children survive and thrive in their own localities. Secondly, applying these methods to produce high-quality animal feed not only keeps the economy of the village growing, but it's the best way of mitigating carbon footprint.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project is aimed at everyone who is ready and willing to learn the new way of producing cheap animal feeds by using locally available materials which are very compatible with looking after our environment as nature intended. In the village settings, everyone is given a chance to try out something new. Since our aim is to reach out to everyone in the village, there is no room for discrimination on the basis of gender or age. Our project is very attractive to so many since it's very simple to implement and the resources required sometimes is just garbage or animal droppings. Hence by using this idea we have broken the financial barriers.
