Project Summary / Description:
The purpose of our project was first of all to fight against climate change and deforestation for charcoal use especially mangrov deforestation in one site, then providing sustainables jobs to youngs adults in our country and then lastly countribute to the economic growth of our country. We started in 2014 with 5 000 USD, then we had many privates investors who injected their money into the company and we became since 2018 a corporate company. We noticed at the beginning that the people living around the coastal region of Douala was cutting the mangrov trees to cook their food, others to fumes fishes with is the main activity in that area. This environmental activity was increasing global warm and exceeding climate change. We had the produce and sell the ecofriendly charcoal to reduce this footprint of that population in the mangrov forest. We started to install ourselve on 200 meter squared near them in the mangrov, and after two year in 2016 we increased our capacity production from 200 meter square to 700 meters square and increase our capacity of production from 24 tons per month to 480 tons per month. We observed that the charcoal was difficult to use for more than 50% of local population, that is why in 2019 we decided to innovate and create green gas with the biochar.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Among the 28 employees that we have, we are working with 9 women, 03 in the top stage of te company, and the rest in the production unit. The three in the top management of the company are used to collect money like Cindy MBAYEN MBAYEN, they are participating in the forum, conference, B2B meeting to interest investors. They are also participating in the global world exhibition and present our products there and seek for investment. apart from the women with whom we work, we collaborate with the indigenous populations who destroy mangrove forests. we collect their organic waste due to 100 kgs per person per week and we offer them 10 kg of gas in compensation. We also work with local authorities such as chiefdoms to raise awareness about the benefits of those mangrove forests so that they no longer sell these strips of land to private individuals to contribute to their degradation. we contribute to the reduction of unemployment by employing the homeless for the collection of raw materials in the markets of our economic capital (douala) this promotes, among other things, the reduction of attacks or pick-pocketing in the surrounding districts. we also collaborate with the hygiene and sanitation committees of the town hall, which has made it possible to involve no less than 200 people in the circuit for collecting and supplying the raw material for ecological coal.
