Project Summary / Description:
- The aim of our project will be to halt the advance of the desert over the towns and cities, which could eventually disappear, in order to develop fertile land, hold back the sand and be able to cultivate this land, increasing CO2 capture. The nopal is a great cleaner of the atmosphere, with which we are also helping to meet the 2030 agenda, which is a challenge for the world and especially for Africa. We will also market its products, figs and essential oils, which will help create jobs and strengthen the Sabha population, as well as helping sub-Saharan immigration. - There are experiences in other similar countries, such as Algeria, which has similar soil and climate. There is a lot of abandoned land to develop these crops, which will benefit its population, regenerate and purify the atmosphere in a natural way and also create jobs.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our association works to fight for equality and the empowerment of women and young people, as stated in its statutes, as well as currently working to promote equality for the most vulnerable groups. In the case of the women in this area, almost all of them are of colour, due to their proximity to the nomadic tribes of the province. We believe that the reality of being a woman, a young person or a person with a different skin colour is not a reason for exclusion, but rather to motivate differentiation and promote projects that encompass teamwork and reduce the importance of origin or race. The best way to empower oneself is to have a job and the tools to be independent, therefore our project fulfils both requirements.

Mission Statement:
- Our organisation develops its main work in Libya, basically we are acting in the whole country of Libya, which has been devastated as a result of the war that ravaged its lands for 10 years. Now its people are poorer, and there is still a large traffic of migrants from sub-Saharan areas, in search of a better life. - Our organisation is altruistically developing training and entrepreneurship programmes, language courses, psychological help, etc. One of the most serious problems that Libya is suffering is desertification, which is worsening with the climate change that we are suffering, therefore, we understand that we must carry out programmes to paralyse this advance of the desert and help to prepare the land for further cultivation and fertility.
