The Bluebell Tract is a 1,410 acre property in Powhatan County, Virginia. Longleaf Conservation Capital purchased this property in 2019. Our goals for this project are to preserve the abundant forest land, implement carbon sequestration, and establish outdoor recreation and allow public access to the beautiful Appomattox River.

The completion of our project will provide opportunities for people of all ages, color, sex, and background to learn and become active in the climate movement. Our team is composed of both women and men, from all different areas of study and backgrounds to make strides towards slowing climate change. We strive to provide public access for outdoor recreation for local communities and to peoples of all skills. We believe in getting people outside and actively learning about the environment. Our model features a social and economic impact by providing rural communities with ways to fund conservation projects, attract tourists to the area, all while preserving their lands.
