MbeguSolar (2020-) is a Sweden/Kenya based company that changes the way how energy poverty is addressed.

Today, 1 billion micro-enterprises globally are struggling to self-finance their solar transition (leaving them forced to burn fossil fuels, which is costly, unreliable and polluting). 

MbeguSolar is a platform that connects micro-enterprises with PULSE solutions (productive usage of solar energy), using a novel self-financing mechanism.

Through MbeguSolar platform, local distributors (the customer) can increase their sales and improve the profitability. Comparing with traditional approach (cash sales and remote customer support), local distributors can grow their business using mbegusolar's new approach (credit sales and digital platform for remote control of the PULSE products as well as customer supports).

Unlike existing solar companies (i.e. m-kopa, sun king, dlight), MbeguSolar technology is tailored for PULSE products (productive usage of solar energy for income generating activities, instead of households who use solar only for consumptions). And the unique cloud based platform allows 1 billion micro-enterprise in emerging markets to self-finance their solar transition, using the business income.

MBEGUSOLAR PLATOFRM OFFERS:
1. connected PULSE products (productive usage of solar energy, such as charging station, water pump, irrigation system, solar fridge etc.)
2. credit sales with self-financing mechanism (instead of traditional cash sales that many end users cannot afford)
3. remote control of PULSE products (so to help reduce risks for credit sales and create users data for risk management and additional sales)

WE ARE TARGETING B2B SEGMENTS, SPECIFICALLY:
1. local distributors (who subscripts mbegusolar platform to sell PULSE products with credit sales and improved profitability)
2. international manufacturers (who produces PULSE products and pay mbegusolar technology licening fee to make their PULSE products remote control available)

MBEGUSOLAR THEORY OF CHANGE:
Through MbeguSolar B2B platform, we enable local distributors (the customer) to increase their sales (by offering credit sales) and improve profitability (by offering remote control and credit system) of their solar distribution business. 

By doing this, we unlock solar energy for 1 billion micro-enterprises (the user) in underserved communities who don't have access to reliable electricity and have difficulties with traditional cash sales (lack of sufficient cash) for solar purchase.

We are targeting SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

By making people's transition from diesel fuel to solar energy easier and faster, our solution is actively contributing to combat climate change (SDG 7). At the same time, the economic potential of our solution helps micro-enterprises (users) to diversify their income and better adapt to the negative effects of climate change (SDG8, SDG 13).
