Project Summary / Description:
Areas which the natural forest have completely disappeared and / or has suffered strong degradation due to anthropogenic actions has been reforested. The purpose is to reconfigure similar forests, in their composition and functionality, to the original forests is reactivated and streamlined. Since 2009 until 2018, 676 hectares have been restored, planting only native species. In the field, the species are distributed in a way that resembles the distribution of a natural forest, combining primary, secondary and late species. Approximately 150 different species are used. The main objective is to guarantee the sustainability of the water resource, capture CO2restore coverage and biodiversity, and recover the essential ecological functions for the provision of ecosystem services.

The project Mas Bosques project for Medell n generates around 40 jobs, of which there is a significant presence of women: 10 in the restoration process, 8 forest rangers, and 5 in the administrative and technical part.

Mission Statement:
The project "More forests for Medell n a reforestation initiative that aims to increase the forest areas in the city in order to restore the native species of the rural area of Medell n. With this project, developed since 2009, it seeks to preserve the ecosystem services offered by forests for the sustainability of the city and the enjoyment of citizens.
