Project Summary / Description:
Gerakan Inisiatif Listrik Tenaga Surya (Gerilya) is an independent study program for students throughout Indonesia, supported by professional teachers and mentors, in order to encourage the use of clean energy (specifically, rooftop solar power systems) to support the 23% NRE mix by 2025. GERILYA is a solar PV installation initiative led by youth. This program, held by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), consists of a 6-month development. The output is created locally through solar PV installation and design certification by MEMR. This program has a pipeline to harvest various forms of renewable energy, not limited to solar PV, and create small businesses from local talent. This program will gather support among stakeholders in the energy sector, especially youth communities.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Gerilya is a program that encourages youth to participate in the clean energy transition in Indonesia. Through technical and professional training, the young generation is encouraged to contribute to the provision of electrical energy through solar power. Gerilya is attempting to compile a curriculum for technical training for all program participants, which includes students from specific science disciplines as well as training materials obtained from professional mentors in the energy sector who can add value to this program by acting as a role models for all young people to learn in the morning from the right and experienced people. The involvement of students from various universities in Indonesia from three regions (West Indonesia, East Indonesia, and Central Indonesia) reflects the diversity of backgrounds of the participants in this program. With diverse backgrounds, we are all united in our desire to succeed in Indonesia's energy transition by empowering young people and students and producing young professionals in the solar power plant construction and development industry in particular. The Gerilya Program aligns with the Y20 Forum's vision of a sustainable and liveable planet under the G20 Indonesia Presidency.
