Project Summary / Description:
This project was formed to demonstrate the viability of a new technology called AirPane that will displace the use of fossil fuels for heat. It was derived from Mr. Miles‚ experience as a co-founder of a geothermal startup in Japan. AirPane will help to revitalize the Solar Thermal energy industry and unlock its job creating potential. This sector of renewable energy has been undermined by the low cost of natural gas. The work is progressing by virtue of the combined R&D and engineering expertise of the founder and a carefully selected engineering staff.

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
AirPaneX technology is capable of emissions free solar heating and radiative cooling. Systems will supply the energy resources to commercial and residential buildings.

As an entrepreneur of color Mr. Miles is inherently aligned with the mission to support economic, racial, and gender diversity. In that regard our commercialization strategy specifically mandates the creation of a workforce cultivation component. The goal is to insure that the ecosystem of jobs created as the technology succeeds will be inclusive and draw talent from communities and groups that historically have lower access to the high tech and renewable energy sectors. Our business model will also supply low cost heat to Multi-family homes and Commercial Laundries. These market segments are both significant sources of housing for and major employers of communities of color. Providing these businesses with low cost energy helps to further broaden the social and economic scope of the impact of this work.
