Project Summary / Description:
Mobility For Africa deploys electric vehicles and charging stations in rural Africa to address female economic empowerment and rural African development. Rural Africans also face considerable challenges in terms of mobility. These mobility challenges have a gendered component, since the lack of mobility disproportionately affects the the ability of rural women to earn economic parity due to the amount of time they must spend traveling to fetch water and cooking fuel, and the concerns they have for going great distances to attend out of home occupations or schooling. Mobility For Africa ( MFA ) is developing a platform for deploying electric vehicles to support female economic empowerment and sustainable rural development.
