Project Summary / Description:
Purpose of this project is to mitigate the air-pollution being caused by burning of crop-stubbles (by farmers) and the land pollution being caused by unsafe disposal of waste engine oil . The burning of crop stubble releases green house gases , increases the particulate matter and leads to smog . This project aims at gainful utilization of crop stubble as well as waste engine oil by converting them into an alternate fuel .

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Due to the burning of the stubble a large section population living nearby faces difficulty in breathing and some end up with chronic pulmonary issues . It has severe impact on children and senior citizens . e.g. whenever stubble burning takes place in the Indian states of Punjab & Haryana the smog in Delhi deteriorates the quality of air available there for breathing . With the transfer carbon emissions from burning of stubble to a gainful energy chain where the emissions will be controlled ones the severity of the impact of stubble burning can be eliminated .
