Project Summary / Description:

This project started 2 years ago when we saw that the electrical grid wasn't setup for the kind of decarbonization we need to avoid irreversible, catastrophic damage to the planet. Across the electrical grid, we noticed 3 key problems:

1. Consumers want to use home energy in a greener, more affordable way.
2. Utility companies need to engage customers and keep the grid in balance to avoid the use of dirty/expensive power plants.
3. The grid needs flexible demand to avoid overload/blackouts.

We began developing software to make it effortless to connect, optimize, and track the top home energy devices to reduce cost, carbon emissions, and support grid reliability. The software keeps in mind the needs of consumers, utilities, and the grid while matching renewable energy generation to reduce greenhouse gases.

We understood how disproportionately impacted disadvantaged communities are by peaker plants and we're determined to make an impact.

This project will enable a more resilient, sustainable, and cost-effective electrical grid. By matching energy usage with renewable energy generation and reducing peak energy demand, the entire electrical grid saves money and reduces carbon emissions. This helps create a more efficient grid and reduce grid operating costs which will lower utility rates for all ratepayers. Creating a more efficient electrical grid has been essential to us from the very beginning as we know a reduction in utility rates is crucial for low-income/disadvantaged communities.

Our goal is to eliminate the need to use dirty and expensive peaker power plants by providing simple and effortless grid flexibility. Peaker power plants can especially impact the air quality in disadvantaged communities and we want to do everything we can to improve the air quality in these areas by eliminating the need to fire up these power plants. 

Part of our marketing plan includes reaching low-income and disadvantaged communities to provide a simple tool for easy utility bill savings and carbon emissions reduction. This will be especially important for those taking advantage of the electric appliances and EV rebates that come with the Inflation Reduction Act.

We also have an active pilot with Southern California Edison to provide our Smart Splitters as a tool for home EV charging installation for disadvantaged communities. With the experience of this pilot under our belt, we are well-equipped to raise awareness of this app for further benefits including utility bill savings through utilities and community-based organizations.

NeoCharge is a sustainably-driven company dedicated to enabling clean, easy, and affordable home energy usage. Thier flagship product, the Smart Splitter, saves homeowners/renters thousands of dollars on installing home EV charging and electric appliances without needing an electrician. NeoCharge is also developing smart charging software to reduce costs, carbon emissions, and increase grid reliability.

The Smart Splitter currently serves homeowners and renters across US and Canada. 

Our software will initially serve those in the US and Canada and will expand into other areas internationally. The software connects directly with vehicles via their API, connects directly with appliances/energy devices in the home via their API's, and connects with the Smart Splitter to maximize the amount of customers that can benefit from our software and help reduce carbon emissions.
