Founded in December 2019, New Use Energy was formed to make solar energy more accessible and affordable to the general public. The NUE team is comprised of leading industry experts who have worked in the solar energy field for decades, seeking out new ways to promote green energy. These leading experts have combined with young entrepreneurs with fresh ideas on how to promote green energy to disadvantaged and remote groups, as well as every day energy users. New Use Energy has been benefited by the recent reduction in lithium battery costs, as well as the improvement of power electronics components, in order to create these solar generators at a low cost. Current society has gradually learned to accept the use of solar and green energy as alternatives to harmful fossil fuel generators, presenting the perfect time for NUE's solar generators to go global. Climate change disasters have been experienced all over the globe, including in areas like California where wildfires are prevalent and growing in size and frequency, as well as hurricane alley in the southern and eastern US, threatening millions of homes and businesses. The time is now to combat these harmful pollutants and utilize green energy solutions moving forward. New Use Energy Solutions designs integrated solar plus battery solutions to provide robust and affordable alternatives to portable gas-powered generators. An ever-increasing reliance on communication devices, aging grid infrastructure and extreme climate disasters (such as the recent wildfires seen in CA, OR and MT where SunKits are being deployed) have dramatically increased the demand for portable energy solutions. Typical fossil fuel generators present hazards alongside their use, including refueling with flammable liquids and carbon monoxide poisoning to the user, all while contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution. Many individuals view these generators as a necessity due to their ability to be transported and reused in under a diverse set of circumstances. However, many of these users are unaware that a cleaner alternative exists, and view these fossil fuel generators as a necessary evil. NUE provides an alternative solution that is both good for the environment and safer for the individual. 

Portable generators are used commonly worldwide as a primary power source where access to a typical electric grid is restricted, in many markets including disaster relief, remote construction, outdoor events and temporary communities like RV parks or refugee camps. Additionally, these generators are used for backup power in more remote or disadvantaged areas of the world, specifically for those areas with unreliable energy solutions. 

The company was founded by leading industry experts and entrepreneurs who have first-hand experience with the portable energy industry and believed that they could do it cleaner and better overall. This led to the design of the NUE's Sunkit, a portable solar energy generator designed to be used by anyone, anywhere. The Sunkit is a realistic and reliable alternative to fossil fuel generators which are used by millions across the globe, significantly contributing to global warming in areas that already suffer from harsh weather conditions or polluted air.
