Project Summary / Description:

I was seeking, and have been for the last 20 years, projects/technologies, that can have major impact on climate change and that can scale. Biochar is on many ways unique in that it both sequesters carbon for tens if not hundreds of years and has multiple follow on societal benefits such as `increased agricultural productivity, reduction in water and fertilizer use in agriculture, water filtration, and reduction of toxicity in soils. Multiple organizations including the Nature Conservancy, see carbon sequestration as really our only hope for avoiding cataclysmic climate warming. TNC and others see biochar as one very beneficial pathway for accomplishing this.
