Project Summary / Description:

Awareness of rural communities about the safest and most productive practices of preparing the soil for planting, avoiding the use of fire, and the efficient ways to fight forest fires. The work of this project is the training of environmental agents within the municipalities, with courses and training - which were previously considered inaccessible - given by specialists from Norflor itself and partners, such as EMATER (Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company) and the Military Firefighters of Minas Gerais.

The Community Brigade made it possible to significantly reduce forest fires in the region, in addition to strengthening the relationship between the community and the company, in which everyone: men, women, youth, the elderly, blacks, browns and whites, work together for mutual benefit.
