Nori came out of the ConsenSys Blockchain for Social Impact hackathon summer 2017, where Nori won in the Energy & Environment category. Its founders wanted to test the idea in iterative fashion with the hackathon and see if it was worth pursuing, and decided that it was.

Nori recently completed the Techstars Sustainability Accelerator in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and have formally committed to their diversity and inclusion goals. Two of the six cofounders are women, one of whom is a person of color. Nori is currently building a talent pipeline with a consultant in anticipation of increased fundraising, and in doing so developing a plan to hire people outside of whom one would expect to work at a Seattle tech company.
