Project Summary / Description:
OpenForests is developing since 9 months the ProjectExplorer Platform. A web-based mapping and communication tool. It will help thousands of smallholders to map their project areas and communicate about their project with geo-media. It is designed as an easy to use marketing tool so that the small-holders can directly market their sustainable farm products locally but also internationally and improve their income in the long-run. Small-holder farmers are the backbone for food security. By making small and sustainable farms competitive in the market, further exploitation of natural resources like native forests can be reduced significantly, and emission of GHG can be reduced too. Sustainable landscape management by smallholders is scalable worldwide.
