Project Summary / Description:
Our project Reeddi innovatively provides clean, reliable, and affordable electricity to households and businesses operating in the energy-poor regions of the world. We are a startup with operations in Nigeria and have developed a proprietary product, the Reeddi Capsule. Our proprietary Capsule currently serves more than 1500 households and businesses monthly in Southwest Nigeria. Our operations provide employment locally (30+ and counting at the moment) and create clean energy-based businesses (11+ and counting) in our operating communities. We generate revenue and have raised seed financing from impact-focused ventures, including AllOn (Shell Nigeria Impact Venture), USADF, EDP, Plug & Play, and Habitat for Humanity.

Our operations results reveal that our solution helps increase household and business productivity by more than 40%. Our project allows anyone to access clean, reliable, affordable electricity seamlessly. Our unique Rental model eliminates the upfront cost barrier associated with accessing electricity in our target communities. Women and Youth in our operating communities can seamlessly access power with our proprietary Reeddi Capsule. They approach their nearest Ambassador and rent the system to access electricity. Our energy system offsets more than 30% of the energy expenses of Users in our target market. Reeddi Capsules allows our customers to efficiently use electricity, saving them more than 40% of their energy expenses. Our project operation creates jobs and opportunities in our operating Market. - Our logistic and supply chain model is designed around local entrepreneurs and business owners (Mostly Women & Youths) that serve as Reeddi Ambassadors in our operating communities. These ambassadors make more revenue by acting as a point of collection and renting the Reeddi Capsules. Reeddi Infrastructure and local operation management create employment opportunities in our operating communities. Unlike existing systems, Reeddi's solution is designed to meet our customers' energy demands sustainably. It‚ designed to relieve users of mobility, cost, payment, and usage-flexibility constraints that ordinarily arise using other energy-generating options. Our solution has a substantial positive impact on health delivery and education outcomes in our operating communities. Hospitals and schools in our operating communities now have access to affordable, clean electricity for their operations.

Reeddi innovatively provide clean, reliable and affordable electricity to individuals, households and businesses operating in the energy poor communities. Our proprietary energy generation and distribution system integrates smart data harvesting and analytics technology. Operating a unique hardware-as-a-service model through our proprietary technology ensures customers pay an affordable daily rental fee to access clean+reliable electricity anytime and anywhere. From personal experiences of countless blackouts and brownouts, supported by an extensive study of over 200 Nigerians presently lacking steady access to electricity, our unique solution was thoughtfully designed with a clear understanding of the Nigerian and the broader African energy market. Our solution relieves users of mobility, cost, payment & flexibility constraints that ordinarily arise with other expensive/hazardous energy-generating options.
