Regen Network was incubated in 2017 by Terra Genesis International. The team saw the need to ignite systemic change in the regenerative agriculture movement and began researching the potential of distributed ledger technology and market mechanisms to support land stewards working towards carbon sequestration and ecological health. To address the complexity of a downward spiral of land degradation, Regen Network combines technology, governance, and economic incentives to unleash grassroots agricultural creativity in service to ecological regeneration.

Underlying the work at Regen Network is the democratization of ecosystem services markets, ensuring that small land holders, in addition to large and wealthy landholders, can participate. 

Regen Network believes that Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) need to be affordable, flexible, and auditable so that ecosystem improvement can be tailored to the context-specific nature of each site. Regen Network's technology provides data management, credit issuance, and credit management for an array of ecosystem service applications, and allows for cross-border transactions at a global scale. Our software brings a level of transparency, affordability, flexibility, and auditability that is simply not available from the established providers. 

Regen Network‚ team includes six women, whose work spans from the Science Lead and Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, to investor relations, marketing and technology development.
