Project Summary / Description:

We are on the ground implementing the project "Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in a changing climate in Bugesera" This project has a very positive impact to the beneficiaries as it is intending to plant and distribute more than 200 thousands fruit trees by promoting agro-forestry as a new method by combining fruit trees and local crops.
We have a small resource capacity in this project, we are planning to irrigate 200 hectares by using solar energy (green energy) irrigation system as Bugesera Area in well Known to be the driest area in Rwanda and many households are facing climate change negative impacts due to shortage in rainfall and lack of water resources in the region.

The Project also strengthen local community in climate change capacity building through training, practices, workshop experience sharing. 

We are planning to use the Prize to extend this project to give access to many housholds to fruit trees in fighting malnutrution and climate change resilience and adaptation through smart agriculture.

Mission Statement:

The Organization RECOR has as mission to advocate for and take positive national action on environmental and wildlife challenges. The organization also works together with local community in environmental capacity building and support small farm holders in sustainable agriculture for climate change resilience and adaptation. RECOR promote also aggro-forestry, reforestation, climate change mitigation and green energy.
