After doing 5000 residential installs in Hawaii, we saw the inefficiency of installing solar through the contracting channel. In 2014 we receive a grant from the DOE and have created a solar appliance that can be sold and installed like a washer or dryer, cutting the cost of solar in half.

In our experience in Hawaii, once the cost of solar falls below a 5-year payback period, regular, average people -- not just the rich -- adopt it because it makes economic sense.
