Project Summary / Description:

The idea of my project was inspired by a personal story. A few years ago, my uncle died because we could not manage an ambulance when he had a medical emergency. There are many people like him who are suffering, and at the times dying because of ambulance unavailability. So we formed Safewheel to bring affordable ambulance access to these rural people.

Our project especially focuses on the economic growth of the rural community of Bangladesh. As, we operate in the rural parts of Bangladesh, with our operation, we are creating meaningful job opportunities for the local villagers who need a source of income. We are hiring drivers and Medical Assistants from the same locality where we operate so that the villagers do not need to move to the city areas to find a living. In that way, they can earn and live right where they belong. With this approach, our project is creating sustainable economic stability in the rural parts of Bangladesh. 

On the other hand, we are hiring women from the village as medical assistants after they are properly trained. Women in the rural parts of Bangladesh have always been underprivileged and lived in a conservative viewpoint. Now with Safewheel, we are also allowing rural women to join the workforce and contribute to the community. In this way, we are creating a work environment that is suitable for both genders in society. By doing so, we are breaking the social stigma of seeing women as only the housekeeper.
