Project Summary / Description:
SPPQT encourages sustainable agricultural practices by introducing the IFS system since 2017. Conventional agriculture still uses chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which are increasing in number every day. The high use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides damages ecosystems and increases the number of pests and diseases. Food crops, including rice, are the sub-sector most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The IFS system uses an ecosystem approach that manages ecological and biological processes and uses environmentally friendly technology. The approach in IFS relies on local resources that can be renewed, as well as being environmentally friendly. This project also support farming families with the development of a biogas digester installation, an environmentally friendly technology to produce organic fertilizers and biogas energy. The biogas digester also has a positive impact on reducing methane gas pollution in the air. The construction design of the biogas digester installation details is attached

How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses), Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)
Best Estimate of GHG Avoidance/Reduction of This Project (Tonnes CO2 Equivalent/Year):
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
SPPQT responds to conventional farming practices with sustainable agriculture, assuming a reversal of this logic. In a sustainable farming system, SPPQT offers the importance of farming in which local farmers are self-reliant and have the autonomy to decide which crops to grow. It also emphasizes the diversity of local resources, without losing the initiative to improve crop yields and their livelihoods. In practice, SPPQT's sustainable agriculture is environmentally friendly, economically viable, socially just, culturally appropriate, adaptive, humane and uses methods that preserve the values of the earth. In ensuring the sustainability of sustainable agriculture programs. SPPQT involves marginalized sectors that have been marginalized due to conventional agricultural cultivation practices. The strategy of embracing smallholder farmers, women, and young people in efforts to preserve sustainable agriculture is a form of awareness that environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility. Smallholder farmers, women and young people in rural areas have been feeling the impact of climate change. Unpredictable weather changes, dwindling water availability are the impacts felt by the farming community. Adaptation in a climate change situation can be done or attempted by running an environmentally friendly agricultural system. Small farmers, women and young people are involved in the application of the IFS method. Not only focusing on farmers, the involvement of women and young people in production innovation is also the scope of the application of IFS. Post-workshop activities continued with field practice and mentoring. This program also support the vulnerable communities to access financial and market
